Oil India Limited Commissions 54 MW Wind Power Project

Oil India Ltd (OIL) has commissioned 54 MW wind energy project that is spread across states of Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh.

Patan in Gujarat houses 16 MW capacity of wind turbines, while the remaining 38 MW capacity is at Chandgarh in Madhya Pradesh. The project is fully funded by OIL with a total cost coming around INR 439 crore.

According to OIL, the wind farm at Patan was commissioned on 26 March, 2015 while than at Chandgarh site got commissioned on 31 March, 2015. With the commissioning of this project, OIL’s total renewable energy portfolio has now increased to 126.60 MW that comprises both wind and solar projects.

The wind project is being run by Gamesa Wind Turbines, who are the project developers, while the project Management consultants are New Delhi-based Power and Energy Consultants.
