Nordex received new order from Sweden

The Nordex Group has been awarded a further contract from OX2. The Swedish project developer has now ordered nine N117/3600 turbines, which will be able to make optimum use of the energy available at their planned site. Moreover, with their low noise emissions it will be possible to operate them without any curtailment. The contract entails the delivery of the turbines plus a full service contract for a period of 25 years.

The site is located in the Province of Dalarna roughly 200 kilometres north-west of Stockholm. The turbines will be installed in summer 2019 and operated on behalf of the future owner Fontavis Clean Energy Investment. The Nordex Group has already worked successfully with the project developer in Northern Europe on previous occasions. OX2 is one of the most successful independent project developers for renewable energies and has to date placed wind farms with a total capacity of around 1,200 MW on line.

“We are very happy with the cooperation with Nordex and this order is further acknowledgement of its technology that has proven to be very effective also in noise-sensitive areas. The deal is also unique from an operations perspective with its 25-year full service agreement, a first for OX2 and the Swedish wind industry, confirming the trust we place in the Nordex service organization”, says Paul Stormoen, Managing Director of OX2 Wind.

The Group has installed wind power capacity of more than 21 GW in over 25 markets, generating sales of EUR 3.4 billion in 2016. It currently has roughly 5,000 employees. The production network comprises plants in Germany, Spain, Brazil, the United States and India. The product range primarily concentrates on onshore turbines in the 1.5 – 4.5 MW class addressing the requirements of land constrained as well as grid constrained markets.
