Nordex presenting first separate sustainability report

The Nordex Group has today published its sustainability report for 2016. This is the first time that the company has published a separate report, which was prepared largely in accordance with the G4 guidelines of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI). In this report, the manufacturer of wind power systems describes in detail its goals and the progress that it has made in implementing its sustainability strategy up to 2018, which it has developed under the motto “Use wind intelligently – live sustainability”.

By setting out its economic, ecological and civic activities in its sustainability report, Nordex is responding to requests by numerous stakeholders for information. Explains Jose Luis Blanco, CEO of Nordex SE: “Investors and customers as well as our own employees and many other stakeholders would like to know what importance sustainable activity has for Nordex and what steps we are specifically taking. We are committed to implementing sustainability across the entire company far beyond the production of environment-friendly products.”

The Group has installed wind power capacity of more than 21 GW in over 25 markets, generating sales of EUR 3.4 billion in 2016. It currently has roughly 5,000 employees. The production network comprises plants in Germany, Spain, Brazil, the United States and India. The product range primarily concentrates on onshore turbines in the 1.5 – 3.9 MW class addressing the requirements of developed as well as emerging markets.
