Greenalia obtains financing for 3 GW of photovoltaics in the US.

Spanish renewable project developer Greenalia has secured €185.6 million in financing lines to support the development of its 3 GW wind and solar photovoltaic (PV) portfolio in the United States.

The new income will be obtained in the form of three-year loans and will be used by the subsidiary of the Spanish company, Greenalia Power. The funds will be allocated to finance project equipment and other development and construction expenses related to the group’s US assets.

“This operation represents an important milestone in the company’s expansion in the United States, where we are currently developing a portfolio of 3 GW diversified through projects in three technologies: solar photovoltaic, wind and batteries,” said Antonio Fernández-Montells, director Greenalia financial.

The financing round was led by Nomura Securities International, which acted as sole underwriter and placement agent. This is the first debt financing agreement for Greenalia in the North American market.
