The largest photovoltaic (PV) park in the Balkans will be built in Trebinje, Bosnia

The largest photovoltaic park in the Balkans is under construction in Trebinje, Bosnia Herzegovina. This was reported by the Bosnian press. The acting director of the country’s Foreign Investment Promotion Agency (Fipa), Marko Kubatlija, had a meeting with representatives of the Hungarian company Lugos Renewables in order to support the project.

Based on the memorandum of cooperation with the Export Promotion Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (Hepa), the Hungarian company is in fact responsible for the construction plan. Lugos Renewables has established a joint company with the electricity distribution company of the Republic of Srpska (Serbian entity of the country) Elektroprivreda (Ers). The park will have a capacity of 146 megawatts. The first phase of the project worth over 50 million euros is already underway.
