EU Commission, Member States and Wind Industry sign the Wind Charter

December 19th in Brussels, the EU Commission, EU Member States, and the Wind Industry sign the Wind Charter.

The Charter follows the EU`s Wind Power Action Plan that was published by the EU Commission in October. The Plan is a non-regulatory communication. Signing the Charter, the Member States commit to deliver on the goals of the Wind Power Action Plan. Also, the Wind Industry commits to Europe as a region for growth and scale up. José Luis Blanco, CEO of the Nordex Group, comments: “It is important to get the framework conditions right, so the industry can follow. The EU Commission and the Member States show clear commitment by signing the Charter, aiming to boost the expansion of wind energy in Europe and to strengthen Europe’s wind industry. Now, it will be about implementation of the respective regulations, to strengthen the industry.”
