Vestas obtains an order for 36 MW of wind power in the United Kingdom

Vestas has secured a 36 MW order from Scottish developer Muirhall Energy Limited for the Greengairs East wind farm.

Vestas will supply and install eight V136-4.5 MW wind turbines at the Greengairs Wind Farm located near Caldercruix, North Lanarkshire in Scotland.

“We are pleased to begin our partnership with Muirhall Energy with Greengairs East, the first project in the UK to benefit from our recently launched V136-4.5 MW variant. Combined with a long-term service agreement, this ensures maximum value for our client’s business case,” Juan Furones, Vice President of Vestas Sales North & West.

“We are delighted to take this project forward with Vestas as our wind turbine partners. Greengairs East is an exciting project that will provide not only wind power, but also a significant and much-needed investment for the local community,” said Sarah McIntosh, CEO.

Wind turbine deliveries and commissioning are scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2022.

With this agreement, Vestas strengthens its presence in the UK wind energy market, where the company has been active for some 30 years and has installed more than 2,400 wind turbines with a total capacity of approximately 7.1 GW.
