Vestas wins order for 56 MW wind turbines in Poland

Vestas has secured a 56 MW order for the Banie IV wind farm from Energix, which is the majority owner of the wind farm and is a well-established wind project developer in Poland. The contract includes the supply, installation and commissioning of 16 V126-3.45 MW wind turbines with a 3.5 MW operating mode combined with a 20-year Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) service contract.

The wind power project, located in Banie in West Pomerania, Poland, is in addition to the approximately 2.5 GW of onshore wind turbines currently installed by Vestas in Poland. Vestas has also secured the installation of another 1.2 GW of orders. This project underlines once again Vestas’ leading position in the Polish renewable energy sector and its burgeoning wind industry.

Asa Levinger, Energix CEO, says: “Based on our previous experience with Vestas, we highly value the product quality and reliability of the Vestas V126 turbine variant and Vestas’ track record of point installations. We are pleased to further strengthen our relationship with Vestas as part of and potentially for other Energix Group projects, in Poland and elsewhere. ”

“Vestas has been present in Poland since 2002. We are here to stay to support our customers and contribute to the clean energy transition in one of the largest onshore wind markets in Europe. I am particularly pleased to take this next step with our valued partner Energix, ”says Nils de Baar, President of Vestas Northern and Central Europe.

The project will feature a VestasOnline® Business SCADA solution, reducing turbine downtime and thus optimizing energy production.

Turbine delivery and commissioning are expected to begin in the first quarter of 2022.
