Concession is granted for the construction of the Punta Lomitas wind power plant in Ica

The wind farm represents an investment of more than 323 million dollars and will have an installed capacity of 260 megawatts, which will be connected to the SEIN.
The Ministry of Energy and Mines (Minem) granted the company Engie Energía Perú the definitive concession to develop the activity of electricity generation with renewable energy resources in the Central Eólica Punta Lomitas project, located in the Ica region, which will provide clean energy to the National Interconnected Electric System (SEIN).

The future wind power plant will have an installed capacity of 260 megawatts (MW) and will be located in the district of Ocucaje, in the province of Ica.

The investment for the execution of this project exceeds 323 million dollars and the commercial operation is scheduled, at the latest, for the next 39 months, according to the works execution schedule that is part of the contract.

Wind energy is that which is obtained from the wind, produced by the effect of air currents, and is converted into electricity through wind turbines. It is a renewable energy, clean, non-polluting of the environment and one of the most used worldwide to replace the energy produced through fossil fuels.

It should also be noted that this wind power plant will allow the direct generation of hundreds of jobs during its construction phase, which is scheduled to begin in the next 11 months from the final concession, that is, in February 2022, According to the deal.
