RES4Africa Foundation welcomes the Nordex Group as Supporting Member

RES4Africa’s member network grows: already engaged as renewAfrica partner, the Nordex Group decided to scale up its membership in RES4Africa Foundation following the positive collaboration of the past months. In addition to the renewAfrica Initiative, the Group will now support the Foundation in all its activities and programmes implemented throughout the African continent.
Based in Germany, Nordex is as a global wind turbine manufacturer active worldwide, including in Africa, since 1985. Thanks to the decades of experience in the continent, the group is aware that the fast growth of economy and population increases Africa’s need for energy, and this is why it shares RES4Africa’s vision: renewable energies are best placed to address this need in the most competitive way, positively impacting the wider economy and society, and overall supporting the sustainable development of the continent.

“Nordex is one of world’s largest producers of wind turbines and an important global player in the renewable energy sector” comments Roberto Vigotti, Secretary General of RES4Africa, “Having the Group on board not only adds great value to the Foundation’s work in both strategic and technological terms, but reinforces the fundamental cooperation between Europe and Africa and between the private and public sectors in creating a sustainable future”.

“Having experienced the professionalism and dedication of the RES4Africa Team this widened engagement of Nordex in the RES4Africa foundation is truly the result of the good collaboration during the last year”, adds Tony Adam, Head of Global Public Affairs at Nordex Group, “We look forward to move jointly towards RES4Africa’s vision in a collaborative approach between Europe and Africa as well as public and private actors”.

Renewable Energy Solutions for Africa (RES4Africa) Foundation promotes the deployment of large scale and decentralized renewable energy in African markets to meet local energy needs for growth.
