Vestas appoints new President of Vestas Mediterranean

Vestas has appointed Eduardo Medina as President of its Mediterranean sales business unit (SBU). Eduardo Medina is of Spanish nationality and joins Vestas with extensive global experience from multiple businesses and functions, including leadership positions at Acciona Energy, General Electric Co., Enron Wind and most recently SunPower, where he served as Executive Vice President of Global Power Plants.

The Mediterranean region covers a vast number of strategic markets in Southern Europe, Latin America and Africa and Eduardo is, with his extensive experience from a diverse set of companies within renewables, the right person to take our Mediterranean region to the next level and continue our growth in mature and emerging markets”, said Juan Araluce, Executive Vice President & Chief Sales Officer.

Eduardo Medina will be based at Vestas SBU Mediterranean’s headquarters in Madrid and have his first day on 2 January 2018.

Vestas Mediterranean continues to optimise and invest in its sales setup to meet market demand and support sales growth. With 23 percent higher global order intake for the first nine months of 2017 compared to 2016, Vestas is looking to continue the positive sales development in the key SBU Mediterranean markets across Southern Europe, Latin America and Africa.

With the appointment, Marco Graziano has left Vestas after mutual agreement.
