EDPR secures 75 MW wind energy contract in Northern Indiana, United States

EDP Renováveis, SA (“EDPR”), through its fully owned subsidiary EDP Renewables North America LLC, secured a long-term contract with Cummins Inc. for the energy produced by 75 MW from Meadow Lake VI wind farm.

Meadow Lake VI wind farm project had initially secured 75 MW long-term contract, as announced in November 2016. The project, that will now total 150 MW, is located in the State of Indiana with start of operations expected for 2018.

With this new arrangement EDPR has already secured 1.3 GW of long-term agreements in the US, for projects to be installed in 2016-2020 (0.4 GW in 2016, 0.4 GW in 2017E and 0.4 GW in 2018E), securing more than 70% of the 1.8 GW of target capacity additions in the US for the period, as announced at EDP Group Capital Markets Day in May 2016.

EDPR will continue to execute its growth strategy based on the development of competitive projects with long-term visibility.
