Vestas receives orders totalling 33 MW in Austria

Vestas receives orders for 10 turbines from Energie Burgenland Windkraft GmbH and ImWind GmbH, highlighting the versatility of the 4 MW platform. The firm and unconditional orders are for one project, the Parndorf wind park in eastern Austria. The Parndorf wind park highlights Vestas’ 4 MW platform’s versatility and employs a highly customised solution consisting of a mix of V126-3.3 MW and V112-3.3 MW turbines with hub heights of 137m and 140m.

The order includes supply and commissioning of the wind turbines and full-scope service agreements (AOM 4000) for 15 and 20 years respectively. The service agreements also include the VestasOnline® Business SCADA solution. Wind turbine delivery and commissioning are planned for the second half of 2017.

Vestas has a highly versatile product portfolio that made it possible to develop a solution that is customised to the Parndorf wind park’s specific characteristics. Together with Vestas proven track record of operational excellence and service capabilities, we are certain this project will be highly successful and strengthen our partnership further”, state Thomas Huemer, Managing Director of ImWind GmbH and Wolfgang Trimmel, Managing Director of Energie Burgenland Windkraft GmbH.

To achieve the lowest cost of energy at the Parndorf wind farm, we needed to leverage two different turbine variants installed with two kinds of towers. The team has done a great job to optimise the technology for this low wind site and I believe the wind solution will deliver superior annual energy production as a result of that”, states Nils de Baar, President of Vestas Central Europe.
