Nordex secures experienced wind manager as its new CFO

Christoph Burkhard (52) will join Nordex SE’s Management Board on 1 September 2016 to become the company´s new Chief Financial Officer. Christoph Burkhard is an experienced financial manager with a long track-record in the wind power industry, most recently as Chief Financial Officer at Siemens Wind Power Offshore prior to which he was Chief Financial Officer at Siemens Wind Power EMEA Onshore. Prior to his career with Siemens, Christoph Burkhard worked in the international banking sector.

“For us it is of crucial importance to have someone in this position who has a comprehensive background in finance and also possesses extensive knowledge of our industry. That’s why we are very pleased to welcome Mr Burkhard on board,” said Dr. Wolfgang Ziebart, Chairman of Nordex SE’s Supervisory Board.

Nordex’s current Chief Financial Officer Bernard Schäferbarthold will be leaving Nordex latest at the end of 2016 after Christoph Burkhard has familiarised himself with his new position. Bernard Schäferbarthold had announced in January that he would not be renewing his contract for personal reasons.

The group has installed more than 18 GW of wind power capacity, covering more than 25 markets worldwide. Nordex and Acciona Windpower generated combined sales of EUR 3.4 billion in 2015. The company currently has over 4,800 employees. The production net-work is comprised of plants in Germany, Spain, Brazil, the United States and soon, also India. The range primarily concentrates on onshore turbines in the 1.5 to 3 MW class, addressing the requirements of developed as well as emerging markets.
