DEWI Spain receives ISO/IEC 17020 accreditation

DEWI Spain (UL International GmbH), one of the leading international performance, measurement, efficiency, research and education providers in the field of wind energy for 25 years, received its ISO/IEC 17020 certificate of accreditation from The International Accreditation Service (IAS), one of the leading accreditation bodies in the United States.
This accreditation covers DEWI (UL International GmbH) global network, through its regional offices in the Europe, LATAM, Middle East and Asia. The scope of accreditation includes the Inspections of Wind Turbines and Gearboxes in Plant and/or on-site.

ISO/IEC 17020 is an internationally recognized standard that sets out general criteria for the operation of various types of organizations performing inspection. This accreditation recognizes DEWI (UL International GmbH) high standards and technical competence in inspection methods and procedures, but also covers aspects such as; Safety, Management, Confidentiality, Facilities, Reporting, etc.

DEWI (UL International GmbH) is one of the first service providers supporting the wind energy industry. The service portfolio has significantly expanded to meet the demands of all stakeholders. DEWI has become a one-stop service provider to turbine and component manufacturers, project developers, utilities and the financial community within the industry. DEWI has built up a strong global network, particularly in the key wind markets around the world. It was founded as a research institute over 25 years ago and since 2012 it is part of UL (Underwriters Laboratories). As the industry is continuously evolving, research remains an essential part of DEWI.
