Report Encouraging for Wind Power Supporters in Michigan

The Natural Resources Defense Council cites a new US Department of Energy report showing Michigan could get up to 45 percent of its energy through wind power by 2050.

Some 100 thousand square kilometers of state land would be ideal for wind turbines higher than the current standard of 80 meters.

The Michigan Environmental Council told MIRS News that 20 percent of energy from wind is “doable” over the next decade, and that 50 percent could come by 2050 if solar power is included.
