Installed Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) capacity now over 4.5 GW

The installed Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) capacity now stands at over 4.5 GW, with a further 11 GW in the pipeline.

The March 2015 edition of the CSP Today Quarterly Update examines which markets have shown the most amount of growth over the past three months and what to expect from them in the coming quarter.

South Africa’s CSP market is going from strength to strength with two new projects awarded under Window 3.5 of South Africa’s REIPPPP. Meanwhile, neighbouring Namibia is laying the groundwork for a CSP roadmap.

Morocco is also gaining ground as a market leader with two more projects awarded under MASEN’s solar program.
