Qatar set to float tenders for 200 MW solar power plant

Qatar will soon issue tenders for the first phase of the country’s solar energy plant which aims to generate 200 MW of electricity, a report said.

The Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa) has set up a roadmap for the Qatar National Vision 2030 which focuses on renewable energy, according to the Al Sharq report.

The location for the initial phase of the project will be decided soon, the report said.

Currently, Qatar’s power plants have a combined installed capacity of more than 8,000 MW annually, the report said.
