Wind energy in Vietnam: Vestas in $2 bln wind power deal

Danish wind turbine manufacturer Vestas Wind Systems has signed a $2-billion agreement with Vietnamese firm Phu Cuong Group to develop a wind farm.

Construction will begin early 2016 on a 170-megawatt wind farm in the southern province of Soc Trang, and it will start operating the following year, it reported. The project will be funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development and the U.S. Trade and Development Agency, it said.
