Spain’s wind energy generated 25,6% of the power output last month

Spain’s renewable energy sources generated 41.9% of the power output last month, data of local grid operator Red Electrica de Espana (REE) showed Friday.

Wind power output fell 20.8% year-on-year to 4,755 GWh in November, equal to 25.6% of total power output. The hydroelectric plants represented 11.8%, while the solar photovoltaic (PV) and concentrated solar power (CSP) parks generated 2% and 0.6%, respectively.

Gross electricity demand in mainland Spain went down 3.2% to 19,799 GWh, while in calendar and temperature adjusted terms the demand decreased 0.9%.

In the accumulated January to November period, the demand stood at 222,008 GWh, down 1.1% on the year.
