Gamesa will install 24 wind turbines G97-2.0 MW at Changfangshan wind farm in Shanxi, China

Gamesa, a global technology leader in wind energy, has achieved another milestone in its Chinese sales strategy, signing a contract with Everbright, the dedicated renewables subsidiary of Chinese industrial conglomerate Everbright Group, for the supply of 48 MW at Changfangshan wind farm.

Under the terms of the agreement, Gamesa will supply, install and commission 24 of its G97-2.0 MW turbines at the first wind complex being developed by the Chinese company, located in the province of Shanxi, to the west of Beijing. The turbines are slated for delivery over the course of 2015.

In addition, Gamesa and Everbright have agreed the potential supply of another 48 MW during a second phase of this project in 2015.

This agreement not only marks the start of business dealings with the Chinese customer but also reinforces Gamesa’s strategy in this market, in which it has already built a solid and diversified customer base.

Gamesa reinforces positioning in China

Year-to-date, Gamesa has won contracts for the supply of almost 250 MW in China. The most recent deal was the agreement to supply 100 MW to CGN, which came on the heels of contracts with Fujian Energy (48 MW) and another with CGN (49.3 MW).

Gamesa is present in China in its capacity as OEM and wind farm developer. Its presence in China, where it has installed over 3,500 MW and currently services almost 900 MW, dates back to 2000.
