Vestas transfers employees from Randers and Copenhagen to company HQ in Aarhus, Denmark

Today, employees at Vestas’ facilities in Copenhagen and Randers have been informed that their positions will be transferred to Aarhus at Vestas’ addresses in the northern part of Aarhus as of 1 July 2013. Vestas maintains its warehouse at Langelandsvej in Randers.

”Vestas is carrying out a plan to reduce the company’s cost. The recently announced annual result demonstrates that we are on track and that the plan begins to show results. The transferal of employees from Copenhagen and Randers to Aarhus is yet another initiative contributing to make Vestas more profitable,” says Group Senior Vice President of Vestas People & Culture, Roald Steen Jakobsen.
Vestas expects to reduce its fixed costs by around EUR 400m with full effect by the end of 2013. The transferal of employees from Copenhagen and Randers to Aarhus is part of this cost reduction. Besides the tangible savings, Vestas has a goal of achieving further synergy-effects across functions in Aarhus which again will lead to further streamlining and simplification of decision- and work-processes.
As part of the continued plan to streamline the company and reduce costs, Vestas is transferring all employees currently located at its facilities in Randers and Copenhagen to the company headquarters in Aarhus.
