GE, EV World Collaborate To Roll Out Electric Vehicles In Malaysia, Singapore

The companies said the collaboration would lead to a collaborative research and development centre of excellence for EV technology.

General Electric and EV World Pte Ltd have announced a collaboration on technology development and strategic initiatives to support the roll out of electric vehicles (EV) in Malaysia and Singapore.

“It will also allow both parties to work hand-in-hand to bring to market commercial applications for EVs to Malaysia and Singapore,” they said in a joint statement.

GE Asean, Country Director of Growth Initiatives, Azli Mohamed, said he was confident that their consistent efforts in EV deployment would contribute towards the government’s aim to turn Malaysia into a green technology hub.

The collaboration is aligned with the goal of the Asean Economic Community to integrate industries across the region to promote regional sourcing and enhance private sector involvement, the statement said.
