enXco begins operations of 205.5 MW Lakefield wind farm in US

enXco has started operations on the 205.5 MW Lakefield wind power project, located in the US state of Minnesota. The Lakefield wind energy facility, located in Jackson County, will deliver carbon-free electricity into the MISO transmission system for the benefit of Indianapolis Power & Light Company (IPL) generation portfolio under a 20-year power purchase agreement for 200 MW.

Developed by enXco, the wind energy project includes 137 wind turbines GE 1.5MW, which will have the capacity to produce renewable energy for about 68,000 homes.

Construction on the Lakefield wind power facility commenced in late September 2010. The permanent financing of Lakefield Wind Power Project is structured as a leveraged lease with Union Bank and MetLife.
