Wind energy Goldwind’s wind turbines passed verification

Xinjiang Goldwind Science & Technology Co., Ltd. ("Goldwind" or the "Group", SZ Stock Code: 002202, HK Stock Code: 2208), a leading manufacturer of wind turbine and provider of wind power total solutions in China, announces its 1.5 MW direct-drive permanent magnet ("PMDD") wind turbine has passed the ETL (please refer to the links below) verified mark by Intertek proving its wind turbine’s design, technology and performance match the safety regulations in the United States and Canada. It has laid a foundation of safety and reliability for Goldwind to enter the market in North America. Goldwind is also the first Chinese wind turbine manufacturing enterprise to acquire such verified mark.

Acquiring international certification and verification forms the crucial part of the Group’s overseas expansion plans. Prior to this verification, the Group’s 1.5MW wind turbine has passed Sinclair Knight Merz’s (please refer to the links below) safety assessment and testing in Australia. The 1.5MW and 2.5MW wind turbines produced by the Group’s subsidiary Vensys in Germany have also passed TUV’s verification conducted by TUV NORD (please refer to the links below). This series of wind turbines fulfill local market’s verification and testing stating the safety, reliability and high quality of the Group’s wind turbine generators. It has laid a good foundation of further expansion in international market.

Mr. Wang Haibao, Vice President of Goldwind Group and General Manager of Goldwind Global, said, "Goldwind has gone through a 14 years road of R&D and market development and accumulated plentiful industry experience. To cope with the international market, we have to follow the technical and quality requirements for the production of wind turbine generators. By learning and respecting the practices and thinking of the international market, we will continue to accumulate more experiences so to strengthen the Group."

A few years ago, Goldwind has comprehensively activated the global development strategy that motivates internationalization by localization. There are four aspects covered, namely internationalizing products and strategies, internationalizing the capital, internationalizing the market and internationalizing human resources. At present, three R&D platforms in Germany and Xinjiang and Beijing in China and three major overseas business centers in North America, Australia and Europe have been set up, proving the effectiveness of the internationalization scheme.

For the time being, Goldwind has been running wind farm projects in overseas markets such as America, Ecuador, Cuba, Australia, Ethiopia, Pakistan and Cyprus.
