enXco signs Operations and Maintenance Agreement with Flat Water Wind Farm

The 60 megawatt Flat Water Wind Farm, located in Richardson County, Nebraska, consists of 40 GE 1.5 MW wind turbines. Flat Water Wind Farm, LLC is owned by Gestamp Wind North America, a subsidiary of Gestamp Renewables (Gestamp Corporation).

enXco Service Corporation (eSC), an EDF Energies Nouvelles Company, has signed an 10-year Operations and Maintenance Agreement with Flat Water Wind Farm, LLC. enXco Service Corporation will provide commissioning assistance during construction, and will provide on-site O&M for the balance of wind power plant during the wind turbines warranty period, and full O&M post-warranty.

In addition to operation and maintenance services provided at the site, 24/7 remote monitoring of the wind turbines will be provided from enXco Service Corp’s Operations Control Center located near Chandler, Minnesota.

“enXco Service Corporation is pleased to have been selected by Gestamp to provide O&M for the Flat Water project,” said Keith Smith, manager of business development. “Flat Water adds to our growing portfolio in the Central Region. We are thrilled to assist Gestamp Wind North America on their first project in the US.”

“We look forward to a long-term relationship between the Flat Water Wind Farm and the well qualified professionals at enXco,” said David Jones, chief technical officer at Gestamp. “One of Gestamp’s goals when beginning to develop projects in the United States was to provide a product with the highest level of energy production in a safe manner. We are confident that enXco is the right partner for pursuing this goal.”

Construction of the wind energy project commenced in Spring 2010; commercial operations is expected in December 2010.
