Vattenfall divests minority share in wind energy project Borkum Riffgrund 1

The offshore wind project has up until now been jointly owned by Plambeck Neue Energien, Dong and Vattenfall. Vattenfall received its minority ownership of 24,5 % as a result of the deal between Vattenfall, Energy E2 and Elsam in 2006.

A team from Dong Energy has developed the project since. A final investment decision is expected in 2011/2012.

Vattenfall is currently building eight wind farms in six countries. These new wind farms will double our electricity from wind energy from now until 2011 and strengthen our position as number one within European Offshore wind power.

This divestment is a natural step for us to prioritize between the many onshore and offshore projects we have in the nine countries where we operate, says Anders Dahl, Head of Vattenfall Wind Power.
