Winwind’s new generation wind turbines delivery to Raahe

Winwind Ltd. and the Finland based EverGreen Investment Oy have signed a wind power contract for delivering and testing of a new generation wind turbine. The wind turbine will be erected in the harbour of Raahe City in Finland.

The wind turbine to be delivered to EverGreen Investment will be the first wind turbine of the new WinWinD 3 product family. The turbine’s properties will be tested and measured before the start of commercial wind energy production as part of the delivery wind farm project. The wind turbine’s rated power is 3 MW, hub height 90 metres and rotor diameter 109 metres.

The WinWinD 3 wind turbine will be erected in the harbour of Raahe City during next spring, and its testing starts in June 2011. The project management services for EverGreen Investment will be supplied by GreenTeam Nordic, design of infrastructure by Geobotnia Oy and contracting by Terramare Oy.

”We chose WinWinDiin as a turbine supplier because of domestic origin and ease of cooperation. The properties, especially the efficiency in energy production of the WinWinD 3 turbine, are very competitive and attractive”, says Jari Sillanpää, Managing Director of EverGreen Investment Oy.

”This wind energy project supports in a great way the strategy of the Raahe City to become the Capital of wind energy in Finland”, says Kari Karjalainen, the Meyer of the Raahe City.

"WinWinD 3 wind turbine is a remarkable product launch to us. In product development we have exploited our experience in supply and operation of big turbines, and the growing demands of our customers have been taken into account as well”, tells Ilkka Hakala, the WinWinD CEO. Commercial deliveries of the WinWinD 3 turbine will start beginning of 2012.

WinWinD is the wind power market leader of 3 megawatt wind turbines in Finland and Estonia, and one of the most remarkable supplier of large, over 2,5 MW wind turbines in the world. The new product generation strengthens WinWinD’s position both on recent and new markets.
