Morocco tenders 400 MW of wind energy

Moroccan renewable energy agency Masen on Thursday launched a prequalification tender for a 400-megawatt wind farm in the north of the country.

The tender for the wind farm, known as Nassim Nord, calls for developers to submit prequalification bids by June 24 to finance, build and operate the wind farm’s wind turbines.

The project comprises a 150 MW wind farm in the northern provinces of Fahs Anjra M’diq-Fnideq and a 250 MW wind farm in the provinces of Tangier and Tetouan.

Morocco aims for renewable energies to represent 52% of installed capacity by 2030, compared to the current 37.6%, mainly through investments in photovoltaic and wind power plants.
