Voltalia starts 30 MW wind farm in Brazil with Acciona Windpower wind turbines

Voltalia, a French developer of clean-energy projects, started a 30 MW wind farm in Brazil.

Areia Branca, which features Acciona Windpower wind turbines, will be completed with the commissioning of the 10 3MW turbines of the Carcara 1 wind farm by the end of next month.

The Terral wind farm in Areia Branca in the country’s northeast is the second phase of a wider project that will see another 10 3-megawatt wind turbines come online this month and next.

Voltalia started raising 30 million euros ($35 million) through a private placement to fund further development, it said. It also expects to generate revenue of about 27.6 million euros for the year ended Dec. 31, a 48 percent increase from 2013.
