Eletrobras starts Artilleros wind farm in Uruguay

Centrais Eletricas Brasileiras, Brazil’s largest utility, started operations at its 65.1-megawatt wind farm in Uruguay.

The Artilleros wind farm started in December with three wind turbines, the state-run company. The other 27 wind turbines will start operations next month.

Artilleros is the utility’s first wind power project to generate energy outside Brazil. The wind farm was built by SPE Rouar, a joint venture between Eletrobras and Uruguay’s Administracion Nacional de Usinas y Transmisiones Electricas.
