Wind energy industry to release 3Q results

Members of the news media are invited to register for a small-group luncheon and media availability at 12:30 pm next Monday with wind energy industry leaders who are appearing at the annual Wind Energy Finance & Investment Seminar of the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA) at the Roosevelt Hotel, 45 East 45th St., New York.

The industry’s third-quarter results and the current investment climate for wind energy will be discussed over lunch by AWEA CEO Tom Kiernan, Finance Policy Manager Paul Holshouser, and Manager of Industry Data & Analysis Emily Williams. Company executives speaking on panels at the event will also be available for interviews. To RSVP, please contact David Ward, AWEA’s Deputy Director, Strategic Communications, at dward@awea.org.

The entire two-day event is on the record and open for coverage by credentialed news media. Monday’s media luncheon will immediately follow keynote remarks from 11:45 am to 12:15 pm by Austan Goolsbee, recently chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers and economic professor at the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business. Goolsbee is also head of the Economic Advisory Practice for 32 Advisors, a global consulting firm.

After lunch, a panel at 2:15 pm on Mergers and Acquisitions with Yieldco Case Studies is recommended to members of the media seeking to understand the growing use of this finance mechanism. It will feature three dealmakers whose companies are among the sponsors of the annual seminar: James T. Tynion, III, partner in Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP; Ed Zaelke, Partner in Akin Gump LLP; and Jeff Chester, partner in Morrison Foerster.

Banking and financial leaders who are interested in learning more about and investing in wind energy projects convene each year at the AWEA Wind Energy Finance & Investment Seminar. Over three-quarters of attendees are C-suite-level executives, presidents, vice presidents, or directors at their organizations.

A full schedule of events from the opening at 8:30 am Monday to the closing panel of CEOs from five wind energy companies, 10:45-11:45 am on Tuesday, is available here on AWEA’s website.
