Work on 29 wind energy projects in progress in Pakistan

Alternative Energy Development Board (AEDB) has said that deal with the prevailing energy crisis, 29 wind power projects with a cumulative capacity of 1669.5 MW are in different stages of development.

Official sources said on Sunday that the AEDB was pursuing the development of wind power projects by the private sector investors to overcome energy shortage in the country.

Two wind power projects with a total installed capacity of 105.9 MW are already operational and supplying electricity to the national grid.

Three such projects with a total capacity of 150 MW were in completion stage and development work on about two dozen other such projects was in progress.
