Boralex erected 126 Enercon wind turbines at the wind farm in Quebec

Boralex, Gaz Metro and Valener today officially inaugurated the 272MW Seigneurie de Beaupré wind power project, one of Canada’s largest wind farms.

“Our 100% Quebec-based consortium has invested over C$750 million to carry out this project, and over C$360 million has been invested in other homegrown companies,” said Gaz Metro president and CEO Sophie Brochu and Boralex president and CEO Patrick Lemaire.

Member of the National Assembly Caroline Simard said: “I would like to congratulate the promoters of this project, which was developed in an environmentally responsible manner and is a significant project for the Côte-de-Beaupré region.”

Boralex erected 126 Enercon wind turbines at the wind farm near Quebec City, which was commissioned in late 2013 after three years of construction.

A 68MW phase 2 is slated to become operational by the end of this year. A 25MW community project will be added to the site in 2015, for a total of 365MW.
