Borusan EnBW signs framework agreement with Vestas for Turkish wind farm portfolio

German outfit EnBW Energie and Turkish player Borusan have signed a framework agreement with Vestas for wind turbines at five wind farms in Turkey totalling 207MW.

The Danish manufacturer will supply 67 of its V112 3MW wind turbines to be built in stages at five locations in Turkey. Each wind turbine will have a hub height of 84 meters and a rotor diameter of 112 metres.

The schemes are to be developed under the joint-venture Borusan EnBW Enerji and work on the first wind power project, a nine-turbine, 27MW extension to the Bandirma facility, will kick off shortly.

The Mersin project in the south of the country and the Bursa and Canakkale schemes in the north-west will each feature 16 turbines for 50MW capacities while the Izmir facility in the south-west will feature 10 turbines for a 30MW capacity.
