Wind energy in Panama: first wind farm

For the first time in the history of Panama a wind turbine was installed, beginning the wind farm in Penonomé.

The announcement came at a ceremony attended by President Ricardo Martinelli, who said that thanks to the decision of his government choosing to diversify the country’s energy matrix, such as the one installed in this region to produce cheaper energy, it will benefit all Panamanians by lowering the costs of the basic family food basket.

During this event, at which it was announced that this was the first of 88 wind turbines to be installed, Martinelli said the growth of this country will not stop because although many do not want to see works like these, which will lower the cost of electricity in the country, things are changing for the benefit of all Panamanians.
