800 MW wind energy projects to be set up in Madhya Pradesh by December

800MW wind energy projects will be set up in the state by December this year. Similarly, 1800MW capacity wind energy projects will be set up by December 2014.

Madhya Pradesh government has formulated Wind Energy Policy-2012 to ensure prompt implementation of estimated 5500 MW capacity projects through private sector. So far, 324 MW capacity wind energy projects have been set up in the state.

At present, 7 projects of 217.8 MW are under construction. Besides, 39 projects of 1260 MW capacity projects have been allotted to private sector. Officials said efforts are being made by state government for tapping about 3000 MW wind energy in the state.

Air draught is fast in Dewas and Ratlam district. Electricity grid of wind energy can be set up by establishing wind energy parks of major capacity in these districts.

More wind energy will be tapped at Jamgodrani Hills in Dewas district by replacing old wind turbine generators with new ones.

New and Renewable Energy Department has prepared a detailed project report for wind energy parks in these districts, the officials added.
