Voltalia to build 90 MW wind farms in Brazil

Voltalia said it will begin construction August 1 on three wind farms in Brazil for a total installed capacity of 90 MW.

Civil engineering works will be carried out by Brazilian Cortez Engenharia, while WEG Equipamentos Eletricos will be in charge of electrical infrastructure. Wind turbines and towers will be provided by Acciona Windpower.

The wind power project, located in Areia Branca, northeastern Brazil, includes a contract for the sale of electricity for 20 years.

Voltalia, which had won the tender for the wind parks in 2011, is seen to start sales in the third quarter of 2014, when the first wind turbines will be operational.
