Nordex plans for 200 MW wind farm in Ohio

Wind turbine manufacturer and developer Nordex USA is preparing for a 200 megawatt (MW) wind farm in northern Ohio.

In a preliminary filing to state regulators the company has outlined plans to build approximately eighty-three 2.4 MW wind turbines in Seneca and Sandusky counties.

According to the article, both counties have been zoned for alternative energy which  will reduce taxes levied on renewable energy generation to $9,000 per megawatt a year.

Construction is slated to begin in 2014 on approximately 15,000 acres of land that have been under development since 2009.
