Certified quality for EGP’s renewables

The ISO 14001 and OSHAS 18001 certifications for the Environment and Safety were granted to all of EGP’s plants worldwide except those in North America, which will be certified during 2013.

On January 21, the CEO of RINA Services Roberto Cavanna officially awarded Enel Green Power’s CEO Francesco Starace the ISO 14001 and OSHAS 18001 Environment and Safety certifications for all of EGP’s plants, except those in North America which, according to schedule, will be certified during 2013.

Enel Green Power’s plants, including its wind farms and geothermal plants, the “older” renewable sources like hydropower and the “newer” ones like solar, have all achieved another acknowledgement of excellence by being granted the international quality certification that confirms the company’s commitment to sustainability and innovation.

Supported by the central team that works at Enel Green Power’s main headquarters in Italy, the various work groups that operate in the various countries in which the company is present have based their activity based on integration, respect and enhancement of local peculiarities.

The certification procedure began in November 2011 when Enel Green Power established a single integrated system for Safety and the Environment. Over the two years that have led to the award of the ISO 14001 and OSHAS 18001 certifications, more than 200 people have been involved in all the countries operating in EGP’s diversified geographic and cultural context.
