Photovoltaic makers secure orders worth NT$3 billion

delegation of Taiwanese photovoltaic makers returned from Japan Saturday, having obtained orders worth NT$3 billion (US$103 million) there, according to the Ministry of Economic Affairs.

The delegation, which was headed by Jerry Ou, director-general of the Bureau of Energy under the ministry, arrived in Japan Tuesday with the aim of forming partnerships with Japanese companies and tapping the market there.

The 20-plus members included representatives from Motech Industries Co. Ltd., one of Taiwan’s leading solar cell vendors, Taiwan’s biggest solar module maker Inventec Energy Corp. and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co., the ministry said.
