Wind energy in Peru: a new wind power project

The installation of wind turbines depend on the outcome of the studies. The wind power project is 200 megawatts.

The Ministry of Energy and Mines (MEM) granted a temporary concession to the company Renewable Energy Peru to develop feasibility studies related to the business of power generation in the future Huarmey wind farm, located in the district and province of the same name (Ancash).

As required by resolution of the MEM, published in the official gazette El Peruano, studies were conducted for a period of 24 months.

Peru Renewable Energy presented on 15 March this year the application on the granting of temporary concession for the respective studies. The future wind farm has an estimated installed capacity of 200 megawatts wind energy.
