Wind energy in Brazil: 5000 MW of wind farm by Eletrobrás

Eletrobrás studied install 5,000 megawatts of wind power projects that can be implemented over the next five years, said company president, Jose da Costa Carvalho Neto.

"We are already developing a 300-400 MW of wind farm and study in our portfolio more than 5,000 megawatts," he said while attending an event of the National Industry Confederation (CNI) in Rio de Janeiro 20+.

While planning a study on wind energy expansion, Costa Neto stressed that the priority remains hydroelectric generation because, unlike water, no way to store large amounts of wind power.
