E.On Obtains Permits For Wind Farm in Indiana

E-on Climate and Renewables North America says it has received more than 100 building permits to begin the first phase of construction on the Wildcat Wind Farm project in Madison and Tipton counties. The Kokomo Tribune reports the company hopes to begin construction in mid-July.

The planned $400 million project spans Tipton, Madison, Grant and Howard counties. The company made its first payments to Tipton and Madison counties as part of the plan late last year. The deal calls for payments of $300,000 per year to each county for four years.

The 200-megawatt wind farm is set to include between 80 and 125 wind turbines and cover an estimated 150 acres. The company currently operates 12 wind farms in Texas, New York and Pennsylvania.
