Suzlon wind energy capacity at Rajasthan crosses 1 GW

The wind power plant comprises a cluster of wind farm sites within the Jaisalmer district, including Amarsagar, Badabaug, Baramsar, Tejuva and Soda Mada. It houses wind turbines projects of some of Suzlon’s key customers such as Mytrah Energy, Hindustan Zinc, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation, Rajasthan State Mines & Minerals and Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation, the company said.

Suzlon said the first wind turbine was commissioned at Tejuva in Baramsar in July 2011. On April 1, 2012, the installed wind energy capacity reached 1,064 MW.

“Suzlon is proud to be playing such a vital role in powering the state of Rajasthan. Completing one GW of installed capacity is a great achievement for us and for wind energy in India,” said Mr Tulsi Tanti, Chairman, Suzlon Group.
