“We’re proud that Suniva’s high quality solar modules are being used to power one of the largest solar installations in the Southeast”
“We’re proud that Suniva’s high quality solar modules are being used to power one of the largest solar installations in the Southeast,” said John Baumstark, chairman and CEO of Suniva. “The West Tennessee Solar Farm project has created numerous jobs for the Tennessee economy while securing a cleaner and more sustainable energy future.”
The West Tennessee Solar Power Farm is part of the Volunteer State Solar Initiative (VSSI), created to benefit the Tennessee economy by using federal dollars to create jobs and provide support to a growing solar industry. Located next to Interstate 40 in Haywood County, the highly visible, 25 acre solar farm is expected to generate more than 7 million kWhs of electricity annually and is designed to allow for additional solar energy capacity in the future.
“Signal Energy is pleased to be working with Suniva and the University of Tennessee, and the Department of Economic and Community Development to move Tennessee’s clean energy industry forward,” said Ben Fischer, president of Signal Energy. “The West Tennessee Solar Farm showcases that Tennessee is well positioned to emerge as a national leader in the clean energy economy, with the solar industry leading the way.”
