Jiangsu Rudong wind farm moves forward in China

Huaneng Power International, Inc. announced that Huaneng Rudong Wind Power Generation Co. Wind Farm Phase I Project (in which the company has controlling interest) was recently approved by the Development and Reform Commission of China’s Jiangsu Province.

The wind power project will be constructed with generation capacity of 48 MW. The total investment of the wind energy project is estimated to be about $71.7 million, of which $19 million, or 25 percent of the total investment, will be project capital to be funded by Rudong Wind Power Generation Co. The remaining investment will be funded by bank loans or from owners of the project.

Huaneng Power is one of China’s largest listed power producers with controlled generation capacity of 60,375 MW and equity-based generation capacity of 55,350 MW. The power plants of the company are located in 19 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions in China. The company also controls a power company in Singapore.
