Wind power in Estonia: Three wind energy firms merge

Thus the three will form one Estonian-Norwegian holding company. "We plan to give more detailed explanations when the merger is completed," said manager of Nelja Energia Martin Kruus. He said that it will take around a month and the Competition Board has to approve of it.

Kruus said that management and owners will be consolidated and a traditional structure will be created with a parent company, which is the new merged company, and wind energy parks as subsidiaries.

The main areas of business of OÜ Nelja Energia (Energy of Four) are the development of the renewable energy industry and the operation of power production. Nelja (four) refers to focus on four renewable energy sources – wind turbines, water, biomass and solar power. As the company does not have any energy generating installations, it operates companies that are specially established for each project through operating agreements.
