Enercon wind turbines for Kampi wind farm arrive in Limassol

The first construction phase of a wind farm in Kampi area, Nicosia District is expected to finish by February, after today’s arrival of the wind turbines in Limassol port. The total capacity of the wind power plant at the first stage is expected to reach 2.4 MW.

The second phase of the wind energy plant, which is being built by AeroTricity, is expected to finish in 2013, raising its output capacity to 9.6 MW.

The wind turbines arrived in Limassol with E-Ship 1, a technologically advanced cargo ship, which is owned by German wind energy company Enercon, the third-largest wind power manufacturer.
