Solar Energy Investment in Ukraine

MP Tõnis Palts, representing a consortium of Estonian investors, and head of the Kherson oblast administration Mykola Kostiak signed a memorandum of understanding on January 16 on the construction of a solar power plant on the Black Sea coast of Ukraine.

The investment for the 23 megawatt solar power plant to be built in Velyka Blahovischenka is 30 million euros, and the deadline for acting on the agreement is December 1, 2012, Radio Ukraine reported today.

Earlier the oblast administration has signed similar agreements on construction of several wind energy and solar power plants in the fastly developing region with the French company Beten Ingenierie, Spanish Cividesign and Sedesa and Greek Eneco.
